This is an article about anti-aircraft soldiers, their tactics, etc.
The man in the top picture is the relax loader. He stands with a clip of 10 shells, which could be shot in just a few seconds. This article isn't long on words, but has many great photos of anti-aircraft guns, WWII era photos. There were as many as 7 men assigned to these big guns - it was not just a gunner and a loader at all!
There were spotters to help with the aiming. Many men were needed just to load the gun. There were ammo relayers that got the ammo to the gun, a loader to load it in, and an assitant loader.
To aim, thre was a vertical gun pointer and a lateral gun pointer. Finally there was the gun commander, and perhaps the platoon commander.
