These plans are for a simple cart for moving single hay bales.
Farmers, poultrymen and feed
dealers who have occasion to
transport individual bales of hay
or straw will have regular use for
this unusual bale cart. It straddles
the bale and carries it suspended
in a welded frame in a manner
similar to a lift truck.
The method
of loading the bale is pictured in
Fig. 1, and construction details and
dimensions of the cart are given
in Fig. 2. Note that the complete
frame is made from 3/4-in. pipe
with all joints welded and that it
consists of two similar frames, one
above the other with pipe spacers
welded between. The
cart straddles the bale when
loading.
