Smokey Stover Foo mobile Fire Fighter Car
Does anyone know where we can find plans to build a replica of the Foo Fighter car from the old Smokey Stover cartoon? We are looking everywhere but having a lot of trouble finding it. Thanks for any assistance with this.
So I did some digging, and found the answer!
For anyone interested: here's the old comic's webpage: http://www.smokey-stover.com/
A man did in fact make a "real" version of the 2 wheeled car that was in the comic. His name is Alfred "Pete' Schlatter.
plans for smokeys car were in a Popular mechanic or Mecanic Ilistrated mag. Late 60 or early 70
Back in that time frame, there was an article in Popular Mechanics showing details of the building of a hydraulically driven version of the two-wheel vehicle. Plans were offered for sale. However, when I ordered them, I was advised that the offer had been withdrawn for legal reasons.

I didn't know what this was, so I looked into it.
From wikipedia, I found this section on the page about Smokey Stover:
Animation and oddities
In 1971, Smokey Stover was a featured segment on Filmation's Archie's TV Funnies, its only foray into animation. Pete Schlatter of Francesville, Indiana, constructed a single-axle, two-wheel Foomobile by hiding four support wheels inside the two wheels. Smokey Stover is referenced in "Jumbeliah", an unreleased song Bruce Springsteen wrote in his early career: "Built like Marilyn Monroe and she walks just like Smokey Stover."
Smokey Stover was a comic strip written and drawn by Bill Holman from 1935 until he retired in 1973. Distributed through the Chicago Tribune, it featured the misadventures of the titular fireman, and had the longest run of any strip in the screwball genre.
