These are two different plans are for electric pencils which can etch and engrave metals. The first uses an electric arc like a welder. The second uses a sharp vibrating shaft.
Etching your name and phone number into your tools is an important step to take that makes them a little more secure.
To write well with the electric pencil
will require a few minutes of practice. At
first you will notice that the point tries to
stick to the metal tool. You will learn to
write with just the correct pressure so
that an arc is continually jumping the gap.
An electric welder must learn to strike
and hold an arc as one of the first lessons
in welding.
An electromagnet is the heart of the second plans. It causes the shaft to vibrate at high speed, allowing metals to be engraved.
