These plans are an improved wartime version of other two tube "hurricane" emergency receivers. It requires no B-battery, instead using any 6-volt battery like that would have been used in automobiles at the time.

Under blackout conditions in localities where a power line supply would not be available for operating standard receivers, the nearest car would power your emergency radio.

These plans call for two low-drain tubes that require only .15 amp.
